What is the Stainguard treatment?

The Stainguard treatment is applied prior to delivery, before your order leaves our warehouse.

It consists of coating the carpet fibres with a protective polymer. The carpet is then left to lie flat for several hours, during which time the fibres bond with the polymer, partially preventing the absorption of moisture and dirt.

Liquid will ‘sit’ on top of the fibres for several minutes before being absorbed, allowing for efficient cleaning.

This keeps the carpet looking and feeling its best for far longer - it also has the benefit of deterring organisms like dust mites and moths which feed on organic matter.

NB: For more information on spot cleaning techniques, see the Carpet Care section of the FAQ or this blog post.
